» Style
Authors are free to infuse their own style in his works, as well as to choose the type of photography most congenial to them (we prefer street photography, fine art and architectural photography, but in general we like to support the photography of quality). The lesson to be inspired by is that of the great street photographers that we will host in the book. Take a look at the sites iN-PUBLiC, VoidTokyo, Women Street Photographers, BULB Photos, Observe Collective and the photos of a great master: Bruce Gilden.
Street Photography is the art form which recounts everyday life and its infinite facets. Street photography is timing, anticipation, sixth-sense, sensibility or it’s simply waiting for that specific instant in which one will compose the shot which will return that fleeting fragment of everyday life, captured and transformed into a unique instant without end. Small stories from daily lives condensed in a split second can sometimes describe an entire historical time-period. Shots of deep pathos, sometimes may seem mundane yet rich of points in reflections, magic tricks of lights and colours, unexpected dreamlike situations that were almost planned to be presented to a spectator, socially intended or just to be narrated, images similar to a small lookout to parallel worlds that reveal and allow themselves to be captured in that single and unrepeatable click.

» Guidelines

  • Each photographer can upload up to 20 single photos and up to 2 projects/portfolio with at least 3 to a maximum of 20 photos.
  • We accept both colour images and black & white.
  • Projects and portfolios may be accompanied by a brief description / presentation. Exhibit Around reserves the right to modify, edit and / or not publish it. The author’s name will always be present.
  • We will select one photo that will become the cover image and the official visual of the project. We invite therefore the photographers that desire, to entitle one of the candidate photos as “Cover book”. The ideal image for the cover is evocative, it well represents the spirit of the project and contains “empty space” for the insertion of the title. You can find some examples of cover photos here, here and here.
  • The photos must not contain signatures, filigrees, watermark or frames.
  • Participants will become members of the cultural association dotART for the entire 2021.
